Egyptian Revival-style lapis earrings
The Egyptian Revival style lapis earrings are inspired by the ancient jewelry style that became popular in the mid-19th century. The design of the jewelry is based on a necklace made in Castellani's workshop in Naples, which used gold and engraved gemstone cabochons. In ancient Egypt, lapis lazuli was a valued stone, considered celestial and a symbol of truth.
