House of the Hidden Places & the Book of the Master – W. Marsham Adams
Language: English
House of the Hidden Places, first published in 1895, presents evidence that the Great Pyramid of Giza architecturally corresponds to the initiation rite of the Egyptian Book of the Dead – or as Adams called it, The Book of the Master. This work was the first to go beyond the speculations of the time about the pyramid's astronomical purpose and sought to reveal its deeper meaning.
The Book of the Master, published in 1898, is a comprehensive study of the religious beliefs of the ancient Egyptians. Adams' analysis provided astonishing insights at the time, such as references to the origins of Christian theology and the genesis of humanity. Even before Dr. Leakey presented evidence of humanity's African roots, Adams proposed the theory that civilization originated in Africa and not in Asia, as was commonly believed at the time.
