A species belonging to the Doctor Tree family originating from South America, it is a magical ingredient in the sacred rituals of the Amazon Indians, believed to remove negative energy while healing and calming the environment.

A Palo Santo stick is lit and allowed to burn for a moment. It usually goes out on its own and starts to smoke, which is when its wonderful, intense and sweet scent is released. The smoke can be maintained by blowing or waving the stick.
