Skull in a glass dome - Curated Studio
Skullcap Flycatcher (Acherontia Atropos) - Framed Specimen
The skull-winged swift (Acherontia atropos) is easily recognized by its large size and the pattern on its back that resembles a human skull. Its forewings are brown in color with a pattern that acts as a protective coloration, such as light transverse stripes and a white discoidal spot. The hindwings are bright yellow with dark transverse stripes. The wingspan can be 94–118 mm in males and 107–131 mm in females, making this species an impressive specimen.
Curated Studios' insects and fossils, including this Skull Crawler, are all ethically sourced from various conservation projects around the world. These projects support local communities and protect biodiversity and the insects' natural habitats.
