Thor's hammer pendant, hand-forged
Viking Thor's Hammer pendant, hand-forged steel, includes leather cord
Mjölnir, meaning "grinder" or "crusher", is the mighty hammer of Thor, the ancient god of thunder. Thor was the second highest deity in Norse mythology after his father Odin. According to mythology, Mjölnir was forged by the dwarf Brokkr, and its throw never missed its target. With this hammer, Thor defeated the giants who constantly threatened the Vanir and Æsir gods, and the Midgard Serpent also experienced the power of Mjölnir.
Today, Thor's hammer is a popular motif in jewelry and amulets, and is also a symbol of paganism in a Christian setting.
This Mjölnir pendant is hand-forged from steel, with the forging marks intentionally left visible, giving the pendant a rustic character. The pendant comes with a brown round leather strap.
This exquisite piece of blacksmithing is perfect for medieval role-playing or Living History performances, and will make your Viking performance even more authentic. Of course, this early medieval piece of jewelry is just as comfortable to wear in modern everyday life.
