Forged Sounding Bowls Forged, i.e. hand-forged sounding bowls are made using a complete hand-forging process. Each individual sound bowl is carefully hand-forged, requiring multiple processes to finish and shape it into a perfect hand-forged sound bowl. In the manufacturing process, first different metal compositions (copper, tin, zinc, iron, lead, gold and silver) are melted in a furnace as raw materials, depending on the production needs, such as for the production of bronze sound bowls or seven metal sound bowls. The hot molten metal is removed from the furnace and poured into cubes to prepare a metal mold for sound bowls of different sizes and weights. Then the round Metal molds are cut into round metal sheets in the required size and thickness. These sheets are then hand forged or hammered, after accurate measurement and graded by weight and size. As for the hand forging process of sound bowls, 4-5 sheets of metal are stacked on top of each other and then heated until glowing. The red-glowing metal sheets are hammered by a group of expert artisans, as long as the heat remains in the metal, and then treated again to a red glow for the continuous forging process. This process of heating and forging the bundled and stacked sheets of metal continues until the desired shape and size is achieved. (This is why forged sound bowls are proportionally different in size and diameter with each individual sound bowl.) These sound bowls are forged during the forging process only when the sheet metal is glowing red, as it is soft and pliable at that time. When the metal cools, it loses its softness and malleability, as a result of which it becomes brittle and the sound bowl can be damaged. The reason behind this intensive working process is that the metal content (bronze or an alloy of seven metals) is very sensitive to heat and hardens when it loses its heat, resulting in cracks and fractures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eOnce the desired voice bowls have been shaped, the individual work phase begins. At this stage, each sound bowl is molded to a uniform shape and size, and this is only possible during the red-hot heating and forging process. After finalizing the shape and size, more forging is performed to finish and fine-tune the sound bowls.
